Kobetron Procedures

NOTE:

NEVER HAVE AN EPROM IN ZIP Socket DURING POWER ON OR POWER OFF

When power is turned on, The self-test sequence begins.

a) The display will illuminate: KOBETRON

b) approximately 30 seconds the version number (1.2) will appear on the Display

c) After another 20 seconds the display will read: UNIT-OK

Begin by checking for Electronic ID

PRESS	DISPLAY	EXPLANATION
Device Type	GET ID
Execute	27c256 (example)	Shows the EPROM ID size
	NO ID	Use Manual ID Method

Electronic ID Method

SIGNATURE OF AN EPROM

PRESS	DISPLAY	EXPLANATION
Verify	CALC SIG
Execute	CALCULAT then SIG 3U56 (example)	Prefix SIG Indicates a standard signature
	CHIP BAD	EPROM IS BAD

If you need the Extended (8 Characters) Signature

PRESS	DISPLAY	EXPLANATION
Verify	CALC SIG
Verify	CALC EXSIG
Execute	CALCULATEX then S 7C9F089U (example)	S indicates an Extended signature

NOW -

IF YOU HAVE TO USE THE MANUAL ID METHOD

PRESS	DISPLAY	EXPLANATION
Menu	ELECTRON ID
Down Arrow	MANYAL ID
Select	EPROM	If you would like to test page or Flash Devices, press up/down arrows until desired device type
Select	MAN 27512	The prefix MAN indicates Manual ID. Press the arrow keys to get to the desired size if it is not 27512

Note: Some EPROMS may need to have a different Manual ID selected then what is on the EPROM label. See the GUIDE FOR MANUAL ID (Instruction Manual) that is with the KOBETRON MT-2000 MEMORY TESTER

The above procedures will take care of 95% of the Kobetron use on the casino Floor.

You are only checking to insure the program is the same one that was in the Game when it was put on the Casino Floor.
