Duplication Procedure

The duplicator will not
be used to reprogram EPROM’s / Flash Chips Maintain an inventory of
Master EPROM’s / Flash Chips in the Slot Repair Shop Master EPROM’s / Flash
Chips will be the only source EPROM’s / Flash Chips for
duplication Security is present during
the entire duplication process |
Both the Duplicator and the Master EPROM’s / Flash Chips are
stored in a locked cabinet inside the Slot Repair Shop. The Keys to this locked
cabinet are located in the main cage.
Checking Out
Duplication Key requires three (3) specific persons authorized by management.
(Slot Tech – Security Officer – Main Cage Personnel)
Slot Tech – at the main cage use house phone and
dial XXXX (Security), request escort for duplication key – also should give an
est. of how long Security Officer may be needed.
Once the
Security Officer arrives – and Cage Personnel is informed, Slot Tech will enter
the Codes and info into the Key Watcher followed by Security Officer, the Cage
Personnel. (The Key is given to Security Officer.)
Slot Tech must call Surveillance XXXX – Notify them,
the Duplicator Key has been checked out and what’s going on / where the key is
going.

EPROM’s / Flash Chips
Upon accessing the
duplicator, the Master EPROM’s / Flash Chips and Blanks are inserted into the
duplicator. The Program is then copied from the master onto the blank EPROM’s /
Flash Chips. For more information on Burning E-proms please refer to Burning

All duplication of
master EPROM’s / Flash Chips is preformed in the Slot Repair Shop. A log is
maintained which documents the following information.

All duplicated EPROM’s /
Flash Chips are verified prior to being installed in the slot machines. When
verifying an EPROM’s / Flash Chips from an existing machine, an EPROM
comparator is used which compares the checksum amount from the master against
the checksum amount of the EPROM’s / Flash Chips being tested.
Any errors noted are
immediately communicated to the Slot Tech Supervisor. If an error exists on an
EPROM’s / Flash Chips purchased from a manufacture, The EPROM’s / Flash Chips
will be sent back to the manufacture for resolution. If an error exists on an
EPROM’s / Flash Chips duplicated by a Slot Technician, the duplicate will be
destroyed and the Master will be examined for errors and possibly sent back to
the manufacture. A new EPROM’s / Flash Chips will be duplicated from the master
and installed in the slot machine as previously described.
EPROM’s / Flash Chips
removed from slot machines are locked in the same cabinet as the masters
EPROM’s / Flash Chips. Upon the need to reuse these EPROM’s / Flash Chips the
key to the cabinet is obtained from the cage as previously described.
The EPROM are placed into
an EPROM eraser and erased. Once erased, the EPROM is placed into an EPROM
comparator to verify erasure. Should the EPROM not be erased, the procedure is
repeated one time. After two attempts, if the EPROM is not properly erased, it
is destroyed in the manner previously described. Once verified as erased, the
blank EPROM’s are ready to be reused as previously described.
When duplication storage
media other then game program EPROM’s, procedures identical to those previously
described are utilized.
Annually, procedures are
performed by Casino Accounting to insure the integrity
of a sample of slot machines games program EPROM’s / Flash Chips
All duplicate EPROM’s /
Flash Chips are labeled with the following information

Technicians replacing the EPROM |
EPROM’s / Flash Chips with
electrical failures (Internal failures) are destroyed by the Slot Technician
Supervisor. The Legs of the EPROM or Flash Chip is removed and the Parts are
thrown away.
When done –
insure the Master EPROM’s / Flash Chips and Duplicator are returned to the
cabinet, and the cabinet is secured.
Slot Tech will enter the codes and info into the key
Watcher followed by Security Officer, the Cage Personnel. (The Key is returned
to the Cage and secured)
Slot Tech must call Surveillance XXXX – Notify them,
the Duplicator Key has been returned.
